On September 8th I went in to have a tonsillectomy. I was very nervous because I've never been put under before and I wasn't sure what to expect afterwards. The nurses were so sweet and started to talk about Twilight and New Moon so I would relax while I got my shot of anesthetics. After that I only remember them asking me to move to another bed and that is it.
Once the procedure was done Dr. H came out and told Kenny that it went well but he looked at my adenoids and that they were very large and should come out as well. However, because the paperwork wasn't signed and it wasn't in the schedule, he was unable to take them out right then. Part of that is my fault because when I went in to get checked out before the tonsillectomy he asked if I had a hard time breathing and I didn't think about breathing through my nose, which I do have a hard time with that, and I said no.
When we got home I pretty much spent most of my time in our recliner sleeping. My throat hurt pretty bad and I was so tired. Kenny took the whole week off and stayed home to help me when I needed it and to take care of Jason. While he was home he got a call from the office. They asked how I was feeling and if he could go on a trip that coming Monday. Because we knew that they wouldn't ask unless they really needed him to go, he decided that he would do it. So on Saturday we packed up a bag for Jason and I to go stay at my moms for a week. Kenny took me down because I was not supposed to drive yet.
While at my mom's house I woke up from taking a nap with this horrible tooth ache. I called the Dr that took my tonsils out to see if it could be related to that or if I needed to go see a dentist. He said it would have nothing to do with my tonsils. So I called and made an appointment with Dr. M, a dentist in Delta. They took an x-ray of my mouth and found that I had a really bad infection around this tooth and that it must have been there for a long time. Because of how much pain I was in and that the pain meds I was currently taking were not strong enough to block out the pain from my tooth, he decided that he would stay late and do a root canal for me. He gave me an antibiotic and some pain meds to take which helped me to start feeling better within a few days.
When Friday rolled I asked my dad to take us back to my house so I could go to a friend's wedding. We loaded up our stuff and headed out. We had just gotten past the Delta airport and the river dip when we saw this truck driving off our side of the road towards us. My dad slammed on the breaks just as the truck went sliding across the road in front of us and back off the other side. Once the truck hit the other side it caught on a bank and it went rolling. It landed on the driver's side door. My dad pulled off the road and went running to see if anyone was hurt and I called 911. The guy that was driving was alone and said that he was ok. So my dad climbed up on top of the truck to help the guy climb up and out the passenger side door. The guy seemed so out of it. I wasn't sure if he was drunk, high, or in shock. After that the police showed up and we were able to leave. We noticed that there were no skid marks to show that the guy had swerved to miss something and that is why he was off our side of the road in the first place. So he must have been asleep or something. The whole thing was so crazy.
I am so glad that those two weeks are over. I couldn't have made it through all this without the help of my husband, my mom, my dad, and my aunt. I also appreciate that Dr. M was willing to stay late to do the root canal. I want to thank those of you who brought dinner over or even offered to help us while I was healing.

My goodness when I rains it pours. I love Dr. M as well. He has always been willing to stay late if needed. I was his stay late assistant for a year. Glad everything is okay now!
Dude, you totally did have a crazy couple of weeks there. I'm still so glad you didn't listen to me about the tooth thing. I'm sure if I had talked to you on the phone instead of over IM I would have heard how in distress you were and told you to go in. I'm so glad you did though. I really hope things start to turn around for you. I've been thinking about you lots the last couple weeks. I am so glad you're starting to feel better. It makes me sad when my Sarah Lou doesn't feel good. :(
I love you loads! *BIG hugs!*
What a crazy time for you! I'm glad your doing tons better now though! : )
