Grandma's Week

Once a year my mom does something she likes to call "Grandma's Week". She has all of the grandchildren come stay at her house for a week straight. All 16 grand children were there at some point in time. She usually requires that at least one of the mothers comes and stays the full time as a helper. I was there the full week and then we had some other adults there to help on and off. I had a lot of fun. Kenny was out of town so it was fun to be around loved ones to help the time pass.

The kids had a lot of fun playing together. All of the kids were very helpful with making sure that Jason was entertained. One morning I think they had a competition to see who get get Jason's attention. Saige was a great helper and would tell me when Jason would start to run off so I could go grab him. She even cried because she was so sad that she couldn't get him to turn around once and she was scared that he would get lost.

The last night was a lot of fun. The adults stayed up and played a game and then my sister Sherrie and I stayed up until 2:30 AM talking. It was great to sit and talk with her. I feel that we are growing very close right now and I'm loving it! Too bad it took us this long to get there.

There were so many fun activities that my mom planned. I would tell you about each of them but it would take way too long. I hope the pictures I post will help show you how much fun we had.
The kids got to paint a magnet to take home and put on their fridge. Jason loved painting his.

My mom did a sugar cookie cut out of each kids' hands and let them decorate their hand with lots of goodies. Here is a picture of Jason eating some frosting.

Jason helping himself to even more frosting.

Jason's face after eating even more candy and frosting.

Jason's decorated hand. I didn't trust that he would actually decorate it without eating it so I decorated it for him and let him eat some of the frosting and candy.

This is how we had all the kids sleep the first couple of nights. Just one big sleep over.

The kids out playing in the water. Jason's favorite part was holding the hose and spraying his cousins.
Jason got tired so he took a break on the swing.

The girls being girls.

The older boys had a blast going down the slip and slide.
Jason helped himself to some cereal while I was trying to help get beds ready for the other kids. He was sitting there eating all of the marshmallows.

I had a lot of fun! I'm glad I was able to go this year. I was even good and went walking 3 of the mornings I was down there.

It looks like you guys had a blast. Too bad you can't go back this week. JJ is a little stinker! Good job on going walking. I bet there was a ton to see down there... dunes... sand... tumbleweeds... ;p

That looks like so much fun. Your mom is so awesome to take all that on. Great way to bond with cousins too.

That is such a cute tradition. I want to do that! I can't believe our boys are getting so big. They are growing up right before our eyes. We are going to start taking Max to nursery again, since the baby is now 6 weeks old...BUT we need your help again on monitoring him:) by the way we haven't been on our morning walks yet!!!!!!!
